wow Celeste that was from the heart, and I'm glad that someone else say's that what we are doing is changing the world. I've been saying that for about a year.
My first paying client was an older woman (60's) who was having trouble loosing weight and It took 4 sessions just to see some progress, boy was I scared that I wasn't doing something right. Now I answer the phone like a pro and even fool people into trance once in a while...being in business as a hypnotist just takes doing it sometimes and being willing to make mistakes. while I build my business I work anouther job but doing hypnosis for a living is my dream so I use seven path and watch you and Cal and keep chugging alonge. You guy's are great and thanks for everything you do on the show.
Tonight is my first lecture and demo on hypnosis, and this video helped to PUMP ME UP for it.
Hello Jeff - Yeah that Celeste, she can really get on a roll! Isn't she great. We are all so lucky to have her on the show.
Thanks for sharing your experience and how you went from scared to confident. That is just what needs to be done. We are all scared when we start out! Confidence comes from success, and success only comes from taking a chance and doing the work.
I'm so glad to hear that you are using 7th Path Self-Hypnosis(R). I don't really talk about it on the blog as much as I probably should. It is changing people's lives all around the world, and so the process speaks for itself. 🙂
Great topic for this one. One thing that sets 5PATH apart in my mind is that it provides a very well-structured system that anyone can use right away, to work thru practically any issue--- if they have the "guts", as you mention, to start in the first place. I think this sort of system (any system) is crucial to giving a beginner the basic skills and confidence to get started, and then they can explore the much deeper complexities and nuances as they gain real-world experience.
5PATH goes far beyond just a jumble of scripts and anecdotes and theories that lead to a piece of paper (certification) held by people who are left wondering... "Uh, what now?". Hey I sound like a shill here but I'm just a 5PATH graduate who is glad to have found something that's worked great for me--- oh yeah, and for my clients too.
Just yesterday I finished up working with a woman who kept thanking me profusely for "changing [her] life". What an incredible business to be in! It is a shame, practically a tragedy, that so many people let fear or doubt prevent them from using that training to help others.
The strange thing is it's not even self-doubt in many cases, I think. I get the feeling that many people who get certified actually do not have confidence in hypnosis itself! I have some very cynical thoughts about why that might be the case which I should probably keep to myself.
PS. You mention: "Confidence comes from success, and success only comes from taking a chance and doing the work." I would add that success is made possible by accepting and expecting the occasional "failures", especially when getting started --- many people are so scared of that F-word but I think it's easier to just do it when you accept that It Ain't Gonna Work All The Time.
