Thank you Dr. Rev. Scot Giles for offering so much information and dedication to hypnosis and hypnotism. I have been recently approached by Christians who ask me about the "dark side" of hypnosis. I feel after listening to the podcast, I can offer a very educated and sustainable reply. The information you provide in this podcast is objective, factual, practical and of high integrity. I appreciate your candor and honesty. I feel as though my eyes have been opened. The additional links and information provided is a wonderful bonus! Thank you for your energy and dedication to such a powerful and beautiful "Scientific Helping Technique"!

"The fearful faithful" - what a great term.
Hypnosis is a modern secular helping practice. These words in themselves say so much in my mind when discussing hypnosis with the fearful faithful.
I think the discussion about the context in which we talk about anything (prooftexting) was fascinating & really powerful. I now know that even some academics have used prooftexting taking statistical evidence out of context.
I agree with your conclusion Cal, we really just don't want to get into a religious or spiritual argument with the faithful fearful. Very appreciative to Scott and his answer to this question of explaining hypnosis. Thanks.
