I just received a question about this podcast by email. I thought I would post it here along with my answer.
Here's to your success,
Cal
QUESTION: I just listened to the podcast and it was very helpful... I have a question. What is the reason you do affect bridge regression first rather than time, calender?
ANSWER: As 5-PATHers, We do:
Phase I: Preparation, Testing and Convincing. Then...
Phase II: Age Regression (AR) to Cause. Then...
Phases III & IV, followed by V if needed to work with secondary gain issues.
Since we are doing AR in the Phase II we need to follow the emotion or sysmptom back to when it started. This information (about what caused the problem) is usually not available to the conscious mine of the client so we use affect bridge or symptom bridge to find the ISE.
In the case of boomerang symptoms (the problem comes back), we want to regress our client back to a time since our last appointment when the symptom came up. Since that time IS known consciously, we will regress to that time, then we will conduct affect or symptom bridge regression after first regression to the known event, to find out if there is a second ISE or if more work need to be done with the ISE and SSEs that we worked with previously.
