I was glad to hear that Mr. Hunter does free consultations before he takes anyone on as a client.
I also do this and feel much more comfortable meeting the person first. Just yesterday I told a women that I didn't think I was what she was looking for. She thanked me and said she thought I was very professional.
I loved Mr. Hunter's tip about how he is upfront with clients when dealing with an issue he has never worked with before (by discussing with the client how it could be dealt with based on similar but different issues he has handled previously, and offering a discount based on the fact that it's "undiscovered country" for him).
I used this approach with a potential client after listening to this podcast, and I could tell that she appreciated the honesty, and she went ahead and booked the session anyway.
I also really like the idea of selling the initial consultation, not the sessions. Its a great middle ground between a hard sell which repels people, and otherwise being too passive.
Thanks to both of you for this great series! I look forward to the rest..
Thanks for the comment to the blog. It was a pleasure working with Roy Hunter, and I look forward to hosting him at our center when he will conduct a training seminar on Parts Therapy.
I also am grateful that Roy took time out from his vacation to do these video podcasts. He is such a sharing person that we all benefit from his experience.
